Inez and Harvey Warninger tied the knot on March 17, 1915, in Crookston, Minnesota. Their grandson Ronald grew up with memories of their wedding cake, which was stored in the family's freezer.
Ronald had been given strict instructions as a child to never touch the cake, under any circumstances.

In speaking with The Yakima Herald, Ronald said: "I remember seeing it as a kid in the ’50s and ’60s. It made it through a couple of world wars and another 70 years. The cake was put in their freezer or refrigerator, and later, my parents’ freezer."
The years passed by. And after Inez and Harvey both passed away, Ronald and his sister wanted desperately to find their ages-old wedding cake.
They looked everywhere, in all of their houses and basements, but to no avail. Eventually, Ronald gave up on it completely … until he turned 67 years old.

In 2015, Ronald was cleaning out his garage in Washington state when he noticed a dusty hatbox sitting high up on a shelf. He took it down and saw a canning pot placed inside.
Ronald had a feeling what he was going to find next — unbelievably preserved after 100 years.
But that wasn't all Ronald found inside the old hat box …
