Tamra Johnson's 13-year-old daughter Maleena suffered from kidney failure about three years ago. Fortunately, her dad was able to donate one of his kidneys to her.
While Maleena is in good health now, she must drink at least three liters of water every day in order to maintain her new kidney's health.
"I feel great," said Maleena. "I usually don't even think about the transplant anymore."
But like any teenager would, Maleena has a little trouble keeping track of her water bottle.
"Maleena was always losing her water bottle, and I just wanted to do something to help her," said Tamra.
The mom created a special device that makes carrying the water bottle convenient. It's called HOLSTRit and the product can hold a large water bottle, cell phone, keys and other items.
Those who have water requirements and those who don't will find it a helpful way to lug a big bottle around.
The HOLSTRit costs about $25 to $30, with a portion of the proceeds going to the National Kidney Foundation. The product comes in all different colors and patterns.
Tamra currently has a patent pending and hopes to bring the special water-bottle holder to a national audience.
