It's been a long road to happily ever after for Dancing With the Stars super-couple Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy, but they're closer than ever. Rumors that the two dancers were an item began to circulate in 2015. People reported around that time that the two had started seeing each other, although they didn't publicly make things official until some time later. They even denied dating rumors in the time in between.
Why the long wait? The couple reportedly went through some hard times. They briefly split up from late 2016 to early 2017, when Val was rumored to be dating former contestant Amber Rose. In 2017, Jenna and Val reconciled and made it Instagram official.
Today, their bond is stronger than ever. Val proposed to Jenna last June. Now the happy couple is getting ready to celebrate their love with friends and family. Jenna stopped by the iconic Kleinfeld Bridal to look for the perfect dress. The moment was captured on TLC's Say Yes to the Dress.
Dancing With the Stars fans are thrilled to see their favorite couple living their best lives together. This happy ending has been a long time coming for Jenna and Val.
The couple started seeing each other in 2015. It was a year after Jenna joined Dancing With the Stars following her success on So You Think You Can Dance.
The pair kept their relationship quiet for a while, though. Rumors of their relationship began after they were spotted together in Hollywood, according to People.
Things haven't always been easy. Val and Jenna briefly split up in late 2016. Val dated Amber Rose for a few months following his breakup from Jenna.
It wasn't long before the two found their way back to each other. Fans suspected they were back on when they saw each posting pictures from the same locations throughout Europe in July 2017.
They were Instagram official from there on out. DWTS fans were always rooting for the two to work things out and were thrilled to see them back together.
Just one month after joking about proposing on Twitter, Val got down on one knee. He asked for Jenna's hand in marriage while the two were in Venice.
Val helped Jacob Arabo of Jacob & Co. design Jenna's breathtaking ring. It took a month to get it right, but the look on Jenna's face makes it clear it was well worth the wait.
As they've been getting ready for the big day, Jenna has been excited about finding the perfect dress. A recent trip to New York City was the perfect opportunity to get her search underway.
Jenna stopped by Kleinfeld Bridal, widely known as the iconic wedding dress shop featured on TLC's Say Yes to the Dress, while in New York City for the DWTS tour. While there, Jenna filmed her wedding gown shopping experience for the show.
Jenna described what she was looking for to People. She said, "Before even looking for my dress, I knew I wanted something timeless and classic. I wanted something that I felt confident and beautiful in. I didn’t want to look like a princess — I wanted to look like a queen!"
Jenna was accompanied by her mom, a family friend, Val's mother, and DWTS castmate and future sister-in-law Peta Murgatroyd. Her appointment reportedly lasted a few hours.
The trip was a success! Jenna found the dress of her dreams. As it turned out, it was the first dress she tried on.
Jenna and Val will be on tour with DWTS through March. Perhaps a late spring or early summer wedding is on the horizon? We can't wait to see what this wedding will look like!
