Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been spending time with each other's kids since rekindling their romance.
If there were any doubts things were headed in the direction of serious, they were quelled on Halloween. This year, not only did Ben's kids join Jen's kids for trick-or-treating, but they even met up with Ben's ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
Co-parenting can be very tricky, and Hollywood is certainly not immune. Many have wondered how the two women, both perfectly nice but markedly different, might get along. So far, it's looking like smooth sailing between everyone in Ben's life.
Early on Halloween, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck spent time with their kids at Huckleberry Cafe. The scene isn't unusual and speaks to how they've prioritized their kids and their needs.
"When you have children with somebody you're connected to them forever," Ben told People in 2020.
"And I'm very lucky she is the mother of my children."
Ben has been very open about how he's grateful for how he and Garner have worked through things and been able to forge forward with a positive relationship their children can appreciate.
"I'm very grateful and respectful of her," he shared.
"Our marriage didn't work, and that's difficult. Both of us really believe that it's important for kids to see their parents respect one another and get along, whether they're together or not.”
"It's important for my kids to know that I respect and care about Jen and she treats me the same way," he continued.
"I have a lot of respect and gratitude toward her. And I wish her the very best."
Later, it was time for trick-or-treating. Ben and his kids met up with Jennifer Lopez and her kids for trick-or-treating in Malibu. After a while, they were briefly joined by Jennifer Garner.
"Everyone gets along and the focus is always on the kids. Jennifer, Ben and Jen Garner all wanted the kids to have an amazing Halloween," a source told People.
"The kids are friends and wanted to go trick-or-treating together. It made sense that they all went together."
Both Ben and Jennifer Lopez have busy months ahead, full of work commitments. It's why they're prioritizing time together with their families at this time.
"I'm very happy," Ben told Extra.
"It is a very happy time in my life. Life is good. I love this movie, and The Last Duel, October 15, which I am really proud of."
