Jennifer Garner’s Daughter Violet Makes Rare Appearance At White House State Dinner

Violet Affleck, the daughter of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, joined her mom at the White House state dinner on Thursday.

It was a stunning event, hosted by President Joe Biden and first lady Dr. Jill Biden. But it was an especially celebratory day for Jennifer and Violet because it was also Violet's 17th birthday.

The two ladies looked like they were having a wonderful time, and people couldn't help but notice how grown up Violet looks these days, not to mention she's the spitting image of her actress mom.

The event was incredibly prestigious, so it was a big deal for Violet to get to attend — and on her birthday, no less. Also in attendance were French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron. Other celebrity guests included John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Stephen Colbert, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Ariana DeBose.

Jennifer and Violet have a famously close relationship, so it must've been a very special mother-daughter date for the two women. They looked stunning, too. Jennifer wore a floor-length black Ralph Lauren gown with sequins. Violet wore a gorgeous Carolina Herrera dress with heart imprints.

The teenage Violet didn't mind being affectionate with her mom, either. The mom and daughter were photographed smiling from ear to ear and even holding hands. They certainly looked like they were having a great night.

Of course, it was Violet's first state dinner. But we don't see her out in public much at all. Jennifer and Ben seem to make it a priority not to share too much about their kids.

Jennifer and Ben seem to work hard at co-parenting. Ben's new wife, Jennifer Lopez, recently praised the mother of Ben's kids in a Vogue interview, calling her "an amazing co-parent."

J.Lo added that the transition of bridging the two families has to be careful, especially when it comes to teenagers. "But it’s going really well so far," she said. "What I hope to cultivate with our family is that his kids have a new ally in me and my kids have a new ally in him, someone who really loves and cares about them but can have a different perspective and help me see things that I can’t see with my kids because I’m so emotionally tied up."
