Jill and Derick Dillard are excited for the arrival of their rainbow baby!
In February, Jill and Derick shared with fans that they're expecting after she experienced a miscarriage in October 2021. The couple thanked fans for their continued prayers as the family looked to add another member.
"We are excited to announce that God has answered our prayers and we are expecting our rainbow baby due July 2022!" they shared. Now the soon-to-be family of five is revealing the gender of their latest member.
Jill and Derick were thrilled to share they'll be adding another boy to the family.
"We are thankful to have a healthy baby boy due in July! Your continued prayers are much appreciated," they shared on their blog.
The couple explained they'd planned on finding out the gender sooner, but the family came down with COVID-19.
"We had originally planned on finding out our baby's gender earlier, a couple weeks ago, but Covid hit our family and we had to delay the exciting revelation," they wrote.
"However, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise because by the time we were able to reschedule, Israel was on spring break. This meant our whole family could be together for the appointment, as we all found out together that another little boy would be joining the Dillard tribe!"
The couple have previously spoken about what it means to them to be welcoming a rainbow baby.
"Ever since we were devastated last fall by the miscarriage of our sweet baby, River Bliss, we have prayed that, if it was God's will, he would bless us with another baby," they shared.
The child will be the 24th Duggar grandchild. Jill continues to be estranged from some of her family after Derick accused her father, Jim Bob Duggar, of withholding money earned filming 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On from his children.
Jill and Derick first met in 2013. They married in June 2014 and share two sons, 6-year-old Israel and 4-year-old Samuel.
