After Goldie Hawn was labeled as a "difficult" and "complicated" actress over the course of her career, daughter Kate Hudson is coming to her defense. On an episode of the Let's Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa podcast, Kate debunks the labels and criticizes Hollywood's double standards for women with a different opinion.
Kate talked about how a lot of people during her mother's career would try to make her stay in her lane. "She had to really fight for a lot of these movies to be made [and] was seen by a lot of people as difficult and complicated because she had a point of view."
Kate even detailed the time she ran into someone who claimed they had a difficult time working with her mother back in the day. "I remember thinking, 'You know, that's funny, but was she right about what you thought was her being difficult?'" Kate said. "And he was like, 'Oh yeah, I mean she was definitely right. The whole script needed a complete rewrite.'"
