Kate Middleton Is Furious About Rumors She’s Feuding With ‘Rural Rival’ Rose Hanbury

Kate Middleton just can't catch a break.

It's the nature of life in the public eye when you're a royal. Every facial expression and footstep is analyzed again and again for subtext. Anything can be picked up on as a sign of trouble at home or an issue with a friend. As if it isn't bad enough that Kate is plagued with rumors of a royal feud with her expectant sister-in-law Meghan Markle, the tabloids are now placing her in the middle of another feud.

The Sun is reporting that Kate is allegedly feuding with her longtime friend, Rose Hanbury. Rose is the Marchioness of Cholmondeley and the wife of David Rocksavage, the 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley. The couple is part of the "Turnip Toffs," a name given for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's high-society friend group. The Sun didn't provide a reason for the rift. It did say that Kate was ordering Prince William to "phase" the couple out of their friend group.

Kate's not happy about these reports, and the Daily Mail even suggests both sides have considered legal action to quell the rumors.

Kate Middleton always appears with a smile on her face. But that doesn't stop rumors from spreading that the duchess has a catty side.

For the past few months, Kate has been plagued by rumors that she's locked in a feud with her sister-in-law, Meghan Markle. The rumors are pure speculation, as the two have never seemed short of happy to see one another in public.

Now there are rumors Kate is feuding with someone else. The Sun reports that Kate and her longtime friend, Rose Hanbury, had a falling out.

Rose is the Marchioness of Cholmondeley. She and her husband, David, are part of the "Turnip Toffs," a nickname name given to William and Kate's group of high-society friends in the country.

Rose's ties to the royal family go way back. Her grandmother, Lady Rose Lambert, was even a bridesmaid in Queen Elizabeth's wedding to Prince Philip back in 1947.

Rose and David live in Houghton Hall in Norfolk. Their home is just a few miles away from William and Kate's county home, Amner Hall.

According to the Sun, William has stepped in to try to "broker peace" between the two ladies with no luck. The report continues to explain that Kate has asked William to "phase" the other couple out of their social circle.

There's no indication in the Sun's report as to why the women have supposedly fallen out. Internet rumors, per the Cut, have gone on to suggest that William cheated on Kate with Rose.

The Daily Mail is reporting a completely different story. Not only is it saying that rumors of this falling out are untrue, but it's reporting that Kate is furious about them.

As the Daily Mail explains it, William and Kate have no interest in letting tabloid fodder shake their union or their family. William's painful memories of a childhood full of scandal have set him on a different path.

All parties involved have looked into legal action against the Sun's claims, according to Richard Kay's Daily Mail piece. There isn't much to work off of due to how vague the story was kept.

Richard Kay says he spoke to a source close to the royal family about the matter.

"These hurtful rumours of a fall-out are simply false. William and David were in touch with each other over the weekend, not knowing whether to laugh or complain," the source reportedly said. "Both wives are hurt by the suggestion that there is any argument or even a coolness between them. They have plans for future events involving their charity."

Both Kate and Rose are patrons to East Anglia's Children’s Hospice. The two may even do some charity work together for the cause to end the rumors, according to Richard's source.

The fervent denial of this rumor makes you wonder what else you've heard about the royals that isn't quite true. But William and Kate have surely built thick skins. After all, they'll need it to take over the monarchy one day.
