Royal baby watchers are living their best lives. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are due to welcome their baby in the near future. Meghan's pregnancy came just months after the birth of Prince William and Kate Middleton's third child, Louis. Now Kate's hinting that she may be ready for a fourth baby.
Kate is currently with Prince William in Northern Ireland. While greeting fans there, Kate saw a sweet baby boy in the crowd and gravitated to him. The boy, 5-month-old James Barr, was there with his father, Alan. Kate went over to them and said, according to People, "He’s gorgeous. It makes me feel broody."
Ever since Prince Louis was born last spring, fans of the royal family have been speculating on whether or not William and Kate might try for a fourth child. It would be quite a handful, but not unheard of. Queen Elizabeth has four children herself, two of whom she had before being coronated.
The last year has been a whirlwind for the royal family. In a matter of months, Prince Louis was born, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married, and Meghan announced she was expecting their first child.
Although the royal baby attention has been focused on Harry and Meghan, that doesn't rule out William and Kate. In fact, many have wondered if they might be considering having a fourth child.
William and Kate have certainly ramped up their royal duties in the last year. Since returning from her time away following Prince Louis' birth, it seems that Kate has been eager to get out there and meet people and make a difference.
It's no secret that Kate loves children. Aside from being a mom of three, many of the charities that Kate supports and serves as royal patron to are focused around the early childhood experience.
Furthermore, many suspect that Prince George and Princess Charlotte might inspire Kate to try for another royal baby. Reports have suggested that she enjoys the bond the siblings have thanks to their close age. Prince George is 5 and Princess Charlotte is 3.
These same sources believe that she might like Louis to have a sibling who's also close in age so that they can enjoy a similar bond. That line of thinking would have her expecting sometime this year or next year.
Despite this, it's hard to ignore that Kate's pregnancies haven't been a bed of roses. The duchess has suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum during each of her pregnancies.
Kate is currently with her husband in Northern Ireland. It was there that she made a comment that has everyone speculating whether or not baby No. 4 is in the cards for the duke and duchess.
Kate saw a baby boy in the crowd and went over to say hello. According to People, she told the boy's father, Alan Burr, "He’s gorgeous. It makes me feel broody."
The boy's father asked the question that's on everyone's minds. "Baby number four?" he asked the duchess.
Kate laughed at the thought. She replied, "I think William would be a little worried."
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may not be ready for a new addition just yet, but Kate's comment has some people thinking maybe they'll welcome another baby sometime in the future.
It seems like William and Kate are enjoying their family as it stands. They're also enjoying each other, looking radiant and happy together whenever photographed.
William and Kate will have a lot on their plates in the years ahead. As the Queen ages, they only stand to have more responsibilities to tend to. What happens in the future remains to be seen — but we'll keep our eyes out for news of another royal baby!
