Kate Middleton Says There Are No Plans To Have More Kids: ‘I Don’t Think William Wants Anymore’

Prince William and Kate Middleton have a beautiful family. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are proud parents to 6-year-old Prince George, 4-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 1-year-old Prince Louis. In the last year, many have wondered if William and Kate, both 38 this year, might add to their family. Some believed they would follow in Queen Elizabeth's footsteps and have a fourth child.

It wasn't just mere speculation. The betting kind were willing to put money on it. There was rampant speculation that there would be not only one new royal baby this year but four. Bookmakers believed that Kate, Meghan Markle, Princess Eugenie, and Princess Beatrice might all announce pregnancies this year. The odds for Kate to announce baby No. 4 in 2020 were 2/1, according to Alex Apati of Ladbrokes, a betting and gambling company.

Kate revealed that won't be the case. During a recent royal outing where Kate was chatting with members of the public, she revealed that William does not want to have more children.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are perfectly happy with their little family. With 6-year-old Prince George, 4-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 1-year-old Prince Louis, their family is complete, Kate revealed. Despite speculation, the family will not be adding a fourth child to their family.

William and Kate took the time to talk with a lot of different people during their visit. One was royal fan Josh Macpalce. He told Kate that he sent cards congratulating her after the birth of each of her three children.

That's when Kate revealed to the 25-year-old that they're unlikely to add any more to their brood. "I don’t think William wants anymore," she mentioned.

Josh, who has autism and DiGeorge syndrome, held out his arms to Kate for a hug, which she bent down to give him.

Kate previously commented on the possibility of adding to her family last February. While she and William were on a royal tour in Ireland, she saw a child and approached his father. "He’s gorgeous," she said. "It makes me feel broody."

When the boy's father asked her "Baby number four?" Kate replied with a laugh. Then she made a comment very similar to her recent one.

"I think William would be a little worried," she added.

The news is surprising to some, particularly British bookkeepers. At the end of 2019, there was a lot of talk in the betting world about possible royal babies in 2020. The odds of Kate announcing another baby this year were 2/1.

William and Kate also checked out workshops at Better Start Bradford, including the "Older Yet Wiser" course for grandparents caring for their grandchildren. They met some of the grandparents who completed the course. Among them were Jo and Ian Broadbent, who spent some time talking with Kate.

"Kate obviously has a great interest in early years development, she’s quite knowledgeable about it," Jo told Hello! Magazine. "She referred to some of the tools and techniques we learned about on the course."

"I asked how her children were," Jo continued. "Kate said Louis had started to tell her 'Mummy, I'm balancing' and she said it was really nice to see him turning into a little boy from being a baby. She's obviously very proud of her children."

Kate also chatted with Maryiam Ahmad. Her 18-month-old granddaughter, Sorayah, spent quite a bit of time dancing and bonding with Kate. It was an incredibly special experience for Sorayah and for Maryiam.

"I almost started crying, it was very, very emotional," Maryiam said of the meeting. "Kate was joining in with the nursery rhymes and dancing with Sorayah." Kate appeared as natural as she would be with any of her own kids.

"I tried to knit him a very special jumper, but I got halfway down and it splattered," she laughed. "It's such an amazing skill."

While knitting may not be one of her finer skills, motherhood clearly is. Whether or not the Cambridges add to their family, her kids are lucky to have such an involved and knowledgeable mother.
