Katherine Schwarzenegger And Chris Pratt Are Reportedly Expecting Their First Baby Together

Numerous sources have reportedly confirmed that Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt are expecting their first baby together. The news was published yesterday, and fans and friends of the couple have been celebrating ever since.

Katherine and Chris got married last June, and they have both been very happy to talk about their plans to have children. Chris is dad to 7-year-old Jack, whom he shares with ex-wife Anna Faris.

Last year, Chris explained that he knew Katherine would be a great mom. "She’s, God willing, going to be a great mom one day. She’s got great parents, great siblings, she fills in all my many deficits. She has changed my life for the better in so many ways. My heart, my soul, my son, I feel, are all so safe with her," he said. "She’s a great stepmom."

After the wedding, several sources told People that the two reportedly wanted to "expand their family as soon as possible." It looks like they are definitely sticking to the plan!

Chris had a pretty easy time as he tried to get to know Katherine. In fact, her mother, Maria Shriver, helped set the two up! And it seemed like he fit in pretty well with Katherine's father, Arnold Schwarzenegger. In fact, Chris and Katherine were first linked in the fall of 2018, and the pair reportedly spent Thanksgiving with Arnold and his girlfriend, Heather Milligan.

At the time, family friends told People magazine, "You can tell Chris knows Katherine’s family really well. Chris always seems very comfortable around her family. It’s like he is part of the family."

Chris also knew exactly how to win Katherine's dad over. Arnold shared that "Of course, the first thing when we met, he says, ‘Can we have a workout together? I need to have the inside scoop to the pumping iron.'"

Chris also asked Arnold for his "permission" to marry Katherine, which Arnold seemed to like. "I’m really happy that he is such a great guy. Not only a very talented guy and a great actor and a great star and all this stuff, but a really kind man and kind to my daughter, which is the most important thing for me."

The two got married in June 2019 in a small wedding in Montecito, California. Prior to the wedding, a friend shared that a small wedding was always the plan. "Chris and Katherine’s wedding will be a very intimate affair with just their closest loved ones. They don’t want it to be a circus. The focus will be their commitment to each other, and God will play a very large role on their big day."

They got engaged in January 2019 and planned the wedding pretty quickly. Chris shared the news of their engagement on Instagram, writing, "Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go! ♥️."

Katherine also shared the same photo and wrote, "My sweet love. Wouldn’t want to live this life with anyone but you."

Several sources have also commented that Chris wanted this relationship to be different. A friend told E! News, "He's not afraid to show his affection for her in public. Chris is doing things differently by not putting too much pressure on anything, but they are very happy so far." The assumption is that he was hoping this relationship would be different from his previous marriage to Anna Faris.

Fans of Chris and Anna were stunned when they announced their divorce in December 2017. The two had been celebrated for their own brand of sweet, quirky love. They met in 2007 on set, while Anna was still married to actor Ben Indra. Nothing happened between Anna and Chris until she filed for divorce later that year.

Chris told People that he knew he was meant to be with Anna from the first day they met. "I knew I wanted to marry her pretty soon. It took a while for me to admit it, because it would be crazy to be like, ‘I want to marry you’ the first day I met her. But I could have!"

Anna and Chris ended up getting married in a small ceremony in Bali in 2009.

He also shared that their relationship made him believe in "divine intervention."

"Anna and I are meant to be together. Our relationship has made me believe in divine intervention and destiny, just as much as my crazy career and the way I fell into this life. She and I grew up 20 minutes away from each other but never met until we met in LA. We both got our start in horror spoofs. We both did an animated movie for Phil Lord and Chris Miller. We both made our careers playing guileless nitwits for laughs. We both have parents that have suffered with MS. The similarities go on and on. Anna is a great wife. Very patient and understanding. Very supportive. So kind and genuine always. And she gave me a wonderful son and family of in laws that I truly love."

As Chris began to rise in the world of Hollywood, making successful movies back to back, rumors about his fidelity also began to rise. In 2016, Anna shared that the rumors began to weigh on her: "I just remember feeling so hurt in a way that bothered me, because I didn't want to think of myself as somebody who could be bothered by tabloid [expletive]. I take pride in how great my relationship is with Chris, but having said that, of course, in this crazy world where he's off doing movies and I'm in LA raising our child, of course I'm going to feel vulnerable, like any normal human would."

The following year, they shared matching posts announcing their separation: "Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we're really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another."

They filed for divorce later that year.

Happily, both Anna and Chris have moved on romantically. Anna announced her engagement to cinematographer Michael Barrett in early 2020, after rumors first connected the two in 2017. Anna's costar, Allison Janney, also confirmed the engagement when she told People, "I kept it very quiet, I’ll have you know! So, I celebrated with them a long time ago. I went into her room to work on lines [for the show], and then I was like, ‘What is that ring on your finger?' I think she was waiting for everyone to notice. ‘Oh, that’s it,’ and then, yeah, it was fun."
