For many people, one of their fondest childhood memories is getting a snow day — a day off from school that they didn't expect to frolic in the fresh white powder. It appears that singer Kelis was trying to make a version of this magical occurrence happen for her three children.
Kelis’ family adventure did not go as planned. While attempting to reach the snow in Big Bear, California, after the recent historic winter storms, her car “almost fell off” a cliff. Thankfully, everyone was OK, and Kelis took to Instagram to make light of the situation.
“My plan was to take the kids to the snow , but we almost fell off a cliff ! So make the best of what ya got , n always be prepared lol,” Kelis captioned her video. Her video shows her car being towed out of the snow. She also uses this moment to share her outfit of the day in a very satirical manner.
"We've been outside for a while, but we had all this snowboarding gear. So God is good. And I figured if you're going to be in the situation, you should at least look your best. So I'm wearing layers to keep warm," she quips in the video.
"I've got my light on, thank God, because it's pitch black out here. Got my gator purse. Silver boots, little reflective action. You know, things could be worse. This is ridiculous. Rescue fashion! This is rescue fashion. See? Always be prepared,” she advises. It is nice to see someone in a less-than-ideal situation take it in stride.
