Kelly Clarkson, who is in the process of changing her name to Kelly Brianne, is so moving on after her marathon divorce.
After nearly two years of back-and-forth, Kelly and ex-husband Brandon Blackstock have finalized their divorce. Representatives from both parties have declined to comment on the official details, but it seems both sides compromised in what they wanted in the end, according to documents obtained by The Blast.
The circumstances around the couple's split after seven years have been unclear. While Kelly has told fans the decision came after some COVID quarantining and had roots in earlier issues, neither party has commented on the last straw. Now their relationship will primarily be a co-parenting one as they share joint custody of their two children, 7-year-old River Rose and 5-year-old Remington Alexander.
The divorce agreement has Kelly paying a one-time, tax-free payment of $1.3 million to Brandon. Kelly will also pay child support for River and Remington to Brandon at $45,601 per month. She will also pay $115,000 per month in spousal support until January 31, 2024.
The couple has joint custody of the children, who are traveling back and forth between Kelly's Los Angeles home and the family home in Montana, which Brandon will move out of in June. Because of that travel, the two parties also agree to having their children vaccinated against COVID-19. They will travel via private plane until they are fully vaccinated, at which time they will be able to fly first class for visits. Kelly will also make a "reimbursement" payment of $50,000 for the private travel.
Brandon will pay Kelly $2,000 a month rent for each month he remains at the Montana home. Both Montana homes will belong to Kelly, as well as her Los Angeles home. Kelly will also retain "all guns acquired prior and during the marriage" and other hunting accessories that the couple previously shared, such as a Can-Am 4-wheeler and a bush hog.
Kelly also gets to keep possession of a pick-up truck, a Ford Bronco, a Ford F-250, and a Porsche Cayenne. Other interesting items that she was awarded include a flight simulator, a baby grand piano, a water heater, and a "ford fire truck."
Brandon will keep farm cattle, livestock, stock dogs, and horses. He also gets a Ford F-350, a Ford F-250, an ATV, and several CAT snowmobiles. He can keep gifts such as diamond cufflinks made by Neil Lane, Patek Philippe watches, and a "golf simulator."
For both parties, they are happy to move forward and start their respective lives over again. Hopefully, this is the end of litigation, although rockiness over custody has certainly brought other co-parents back to court. Hopefully, time and space will make this situation better for all parties involved.
