School Bus Leaves 3-Year-Old Boy At The Wrong School

One Memphis mother is outraged after a school bus took her 3-year-old to the wrong place on his first day.

Briana Smith said that she went to Getwell Elementary to drop off some supplies for her son Zayden. There, the school informed her that her son hadn’t showed up that day.

"I thought they left him on the bus, somebody took my child," she told reporters. "I was about to break down crying.”

But, her boy wasn’t abducted. Instead, a bus driver is believed to have taken him to another school where Zayden sat all day.

Like Ciare Mckenzie, who faced a similar scary situation with her 6-year-old daughter, Smith and her relatives are stunned by the incident.

“Who taught him today? Whose class was he in today? There’s several question what was he doing the past 8, 9 hours,” said Zayden's grandmother, Alonja Knowles.

The school district released a statement to explain the mix-up, saying, “The busyness of the first day caused it to take longer than usual to verify this student’s information. However, the student was safe and supervised all day and actually participated in a normal school day.”
