Prince Andrew Is Apparently Squatting At Royal Lodge And Won’t Leave Unless He’s Paid To

When we think of brotherly squabbles in the British royal family of late, we immediately think of estranged brothers Prince Harry and Prince William. It appears that there is another pair to add to the list. The Mirror is reporting that King Charles and Prince Andrew may be clashing over money and real estate.

Even though Andrew is no longer a working royal, he receives an allowance of £250,000 a year. King Charles is having the whole family make cutbacks, so Andrew’s allowance is set to be slashed in April. Some worry he will no longer be able to afford his lifestyle and the king will be forced to evict him.

Prince Andrew lives at Royal Lodge on the Windsor Estate. He rents the massive 30-bedroom home from the crown for £250 a week, having signed a 75-year lease in 2003. In exchange for the low rent, the lease stipulates that he properly maintain the massive property. He has reportedly put around £7.5 million of his own money into the estate. Some claim the king will be forced to evict Andrew because of his money problems, but others do not see this happening. Especially since he most likely inherited money when his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth, died in 2022.

A source close to the situation tells it like it is. “He (said) he’s not leaving, there is no chance that will happen and even if the King wanted him how would that work? The King won’t evict him so there is no chance it will come to that. If he (the King) wants to spend millions reimbursing him for the money he’s already spent on the property, that’s another matter,” the source said.

Prince Andrew fell from grace amid sexual abuse allegations brought on by Virginia Giuffre, who was a victim of late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew adamantly denies these accusations but was forced to step down from his royal duties regardless. A source close to the king claims that he would never “leave his brother homeless and penniless.”
