It's great to see that celebrities aren't exempt from the emotional highs and lows of parenting. It's even better when you see it from a couple who are already major #relationshipgoals. Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard wear their parenting hearts on their sleeves for all of social media to see, posting the kind of anecdotes that make parents nod and laugh in agreement.
This past spring, we were treated to Kristen Bell's super-relatable, emotional reaction to 5-year-old daughter Lincoln graduating preschool. Now Lincoln is off to kindergarten, and both Kristen and Dax are feeling all the feelings. To top it off, they're just getting started on the school leg of the parenting journey. With Lincoln in kindergarten, they still have 3-year-old Delta to get started next year. Kristen has been asked about having more kids, and she jokingly told Ellen that she and Dax don't want to be outnumbered.
However, just like all parents, the pair got emotional when Lincoln trotted off to her first day of school.
Kristen Bell let us know she was every mom when she posted a video from Lincoln's preschool graduation to her Instagram story.
Tears poured down the Frozen star's face as her daughter's class sang "I've Got Peace Like a River" in the background.
Her husband, Dax, is also into sharing his parenting experiences, as evidenced by this photo from a game of "family" with Lincoln and Delta.
Celebrities rarely show the unglamorous side of parenting, but not this crew. The girls obviously have a blast with their down-to-earth parents.
As the girls grow up, there will undoubtedly be more emotional milestones. They jumped a big hurdle recently when Lincoln had her first day of kindergarten.
Dax shared this sweet photo of himself and Lincoln driving a boat together to commemorate the occasion: "5 years-old. Driving the boat last week. First day of kindergarten today. Life is damn sweet ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️."
Kristen also marked the occasion with an Instagram photo, this time of she, Dax, and Lincoln walking to school: "Nerd alert!!! The team Shepard loves school!! ."
The way Lincoln clings to Dax in the second photo truly pulls at the heartstrings. It's a sweet moment between a dad and his daughter.
What's awesome about the way Dax and Kristen share moments in their kids' lives is that they're sharing their parenting experiences while still protecting their kids by not showing the girls' faces.
In fact, it's one of the many things that draw people to Dax and Kristen as parents so much.
The normalcy that Kristen and Dax share lets us know that we aren't alone in all the triumphs and tragedies of parenting. It also reminds us that celebrities, no matter how big, are just people like us.
