When Tanyika Miller began breastfeeding her daughter, she started a support group for breastfeeding moms. Through her project, "Breast Is Best: No Fear," she realized a lot of the moms had trouble producing enough milk for their babies.
Miller began baking and selling what she calls "lactation cookies." The cookies, brownies, and muffins, formulated with her special recipe, claim to double a mother's milk production.
The desserts contain flaxseed, coconut oil, and brewer's yeast, which have vital nutrients many mothers lack. She creates her recipes based on positive feedback, and over the course of two years, they've become a big hit.
"I've been to every state and seven countries," Miller says.
One mother says Miller's treats doubled her milk supply. Crystal Parente suffered a breast infection and was unable to produce enough milk until the special treats came along.
"I went from pumping two ounces at a time to a full nine-ounce bottle," Parente says in the video below.
Miller's desserts are all natural and can be eaten by men and children as well. She says there are no effects at all to anyone who isn't lactating, but those who are will benefit.
