Lamar Odom has been a fascinating member of the Kardashian cinematic universe. The whirlwind romance between Lamar Odom and Khloé Kardashian was the win people wanted for Khloé at the time.
Their relationship became immensely more complicated after the "I do's" went down. Khloé would come to discover Lamar's struggles with addiction as he grappled with life after professional basketball. Their divorce was heartbreaking for Khloé's fans to watch her go through and even more painful when it was halted because of Lamar's near-death overdose.
These days, Khloé and Lamar are reportedly not on speaking terms. That made it even more interesting to see him shooting his shot in the comments of a recent Instagram photo.
It probably would have gone relatively unnoticed if Tristan Thompson, whom Khloé has allegedly split from for the umpteenth time, didn't reply in an unnecessarily aggressive fashion. All of this is made even more fascinating by the fact that Lamar is being shown in teasers for Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta as a potential love interest of castmate Karlie Redd.
Lamar Odom and Tristan Thompson's fiery Instagram exchange was a surprise to a lot of people. Currently, neither of them is in a relationship with Khloé Kardashian, but that didn't stop either of them from stopping by her recent Instagram photo to leave some thirsty comments.
First up was Lamar. "Hottie ❤️ ," he wrote.
Tristan followed up with a, "❤️❤️ ."
Then he addressed Lamar: "@lamarodom God brought you back the first time. Play if you want, different results ♂️ ♂️."
"He don't really know me," Lamar later told TMZ.
"What did Jesus say, 'God, forgive those for what they not know,' so he don't really know me, because that could've really turned ugly."
Lamar explained that he didn't escalate things because Tristan "is a Black man, he's in the NBA, so we're fraternity brothers, at the end of the day," Lamar said.
"I'll just leave it there. He made a mistake by saying that."
Any respect Lamar may have for Tristan isn't standing in the way of him wanting Khloé back, however. Sources say the only reason Lamar left the comment in the first place was because he'd heard recent rumors that Khloé and Tristan had broken up yet again and decided to give it a shot. Yet he reportedly hasn't heard from Khloé since the comment.
The timing is also interesting because Lamar seems to be making a return to reality TV. He's been featured in previews of the new season of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. The previews make him out to be a love interest for star Karlie Redd, though the two are not together at this time.
As for Khloé and Tristan, the two are reportedly still broken up. But Tristan is trying for a comeback yet again.
"This is why she keeps going back to him. Tristan has a way to make her feel the most special. She loves that feeling," a source told People.
"Whenever they are broken up, it's been very hard for Khloe to move on. She has yet to date someone else."
Those closest to Khloé want her to move on, the source says.
"Her family thinks Tristan's behavior is very childish and unfair to Khloé," the source notes.
"They would love for her to move on with someone who treats her better. They also understand why it's so hard for her."
