Cop Helps Young Girl Raise Money For Her Brother’s Crucial Heart Surgery

We all find ourselves down on our luck every now and again, especially when it comes to our bank account. Money never seems to stay quite long enough for those of us dealing with hardship, particularly when it comes to covering a long list of medical expenses. Even with insurance and help from others, it can be difficult to get a handle on the growing bill that always comes along with trying to get well.

Of course, that's the last thing anyone needs to worry about when they're dealing with a dire situation, especially someone as young as the kiddo in the video below. Seven-year-old Kaden has a heart condition that will require him to travel from his home in New Mexico to Houston in order to receive the best surgical procedure possible. He lives with his grandparents and older sister, 9-year-old Addison. When his sis overheard their grandparents discussing the financial strain of traveling so far for treatment, she did something about it.

Opening a lemonade stand with her best friends and Kaden by her side, Addison was determined to do whatever it took to make sure her brother made the trip. Selling cups from a humble wooden booth, the youngsters caught the eye of a local law enforcement member, Officer Eric Vasquez. He was so moved by the display of devotion that he donated much more than a few cents to their cause.

Take a look below to hear more, including just how much they raised for the little guy.
