Fans of Lifetime's first movie about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are in for a treat! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are getting the Lifetime treatment once again. Following the success of Meghan & Harry: A Royal Romance, a sequel was announced.
There will be some changes from the first film, of course. This new film will star Tiffany Marie Smith and Charlie Field, while previously Murray Fraser and Parisa Fitz-Henley held the roles. This film will follow life after marriage for the royal couple. According to a press release obtained by People, this chapter of the story is "pulling back the curtain to reveal the untold joys and challenges of life inside the royal family during their pivotal first years of marriage."
Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal is set to debut this spring. While we're sure it won't beat Harry and Meghan's other special debut this spring, it's still something that fans of the royal family are not going to want to miss.
Fans of the royal family have been fascinated by Prince Harry's relationship with Meghan Markle from the very beginning. When the couple's engagement was announced, the attention amped up.
Part of that fascination is how much Harry and Meghan deviate from your usual royal couples. Meghan is American and a divorcée, as well as biracial. Their wedding came when they were both at an older age than in other royal marriages, with both well into their 30s.
Harry and Meghan's royal wedding was undeniably beautiful. The drama surrounding Meghan's family settled enough for the two to enjoy their special day. Still, the air of mystery around her had people curious as to what the couple's relationship dynamic must be like.
Lifetime tried to quell some of that curiosity with a special movie. Meghan & Harry: A Royal Romance put a soap opera spin on the couple's real-life story.
The movie, which came after a similar treatment was given to Prince William and Kate Middleton around the time of their nuptials, was a bit of a head-scratcher on some fronts. For one, both Harry and Meghan's personalities were played up to new dramatic heights.
Perhaps the most bewildering part of the film was when they insinuated that Princess Diana's spirit was alive in a lion. It's part of one of Harry and Meghan's trips to Botswana, and it's seriously confusing.
Despite its over-the-top nature, a lot of people were really into the film. The lovefest died down as the summer set in and the royals and royal watchers took a break.
That all changed in October when Meghan and Harry announced that they were expecting their first child. The royal frenzy was back in full swing, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the center of it.
Everyone has been eagerly following any news coming out about Meghan's pregnancy. Fans have been yearning to find out all about the next addition to the royal family, from maternity fashion to possible due dates.
As we get closer and closer to meeting Harry and Meghan's little one, we've got some other news about an arrival this spring. Lifetime has announced a sequel to its first movie about the couple!
This time, Tiffany Marie Smith and Charlie Field will star as Harry and Meghan. Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal will begin filming in Vancouver later this month.
There's no word on exactly when the movie is expected to air just yet. Fans of the royals are excited to see what Lifetime will come up with next.
Some people do think that the movie might be too much. They feel that assuming the inner workings of the couple's marriage based on what's played out in public is unfair to Harry and Meghan.
Like so many others, we'll be waiting to see what Tiffany and Charlie bring to the roles. In our book, this is second only to the royal baby watch itself!
