Like a lot of little kids, 4-year-old Colt Vinson wants to be a police officer when he grows up. Either that, or a superhero, but those are practically the same thing outside of the Hollywood world. Raised by his parents to see the men in blue as friends, the youngster knows that compassion for their fellow citizens is just as important for officers as their badge and gun. That's what inspired Colt to offer his own selfless act of kindness.
It's similar to how 9-year-old Jayden Witsell's gave his local cops the gift of a St. Michael's coin to watch over them, only Colt's present was a bit more delicious. While in the car with his mom, Colt noticed a group of officers standing out in the snow during an arduous standoff with a perp. The waiting game would end up lasting 16 hours, but the crew didn't have to worry about keeping their energy up and staying warm, thanks to some help from Colt.
He and his mom spoke to nearby Domino's pizza chain and 7-11 gas station to supply the officers with plenty of pizza and coffee. "I told him thank you," Officer Robert Gilmore tells the news. "Really, thank you from the bottom of our hearts." The food and drink definitely helped them last through the long day, but it was more just knowing a young kid wanted to make such sweet gesture that really boosted their morale.
