It's every pet owners worst nightmare: finding out your pet has gone missing. For the McGill family, they were devastated to discover that their beloved French bulldog had vanished.
The family had posted a lost dog ad on Craigslist and promised $500 for the return of their dog Rocket and hoped their pet would be returned.
"We were terrified. We didn't know if we were going to get him back," owner Kelly McGill said.
Meanwhile, across town, two men were trying to sell the French bulldog on Craiglist for $600! The potential buyer reached out about their ad, requested photos, and soon recognized the unique snout mark from McGill's lost dog ad. The potential buyer contacted Rocket's owners, saying, "I am 99% sure the dog he is trying to sell is your dog."
With enough evidence, the Conyers Police stepped in to do an undercover bust and recover the lost pet. They got the dog back and no charges were filed.
"I don't really care about people going to jail or anything," McGill said.
In the video, McGill's daughter Morgan and her French bulldog "Rocket" are finally reunited, and the beautiful moment was all captured on camera. Watch it below.
After this harrowing ordeal, the family plans to microchip their dog and have set an appointment to do so next week.
