Lourdes Medrano's prom night came and went, but the experience was missing something crucial.
The 18-year-old's dad, who is no stranger to working day and night, missed seeing her looking glamorous for the big night. So Lourdes decided to do something special just for him, and her Twitter was booming with responses!
“Since my dad works 24/7 at times, he hasn’t been around for certain events — and even though it may not seem like a big deal to others, it was [important] to me for him to see me ready in my prom outfit,” Lourdes told Yahoo Style.
Teens and adults alike know the time, work, and effort that goes into creating the perfect prom look. But even though Lourdes went through all the motions for her prom night, she didn't hesitate in doing it all over again.
She did all of that just so her beloved dad could see her in her prom dress.
She took a photo with him, and then posted it to her Twitter with the caption that read: "My dad works so much & He didn't get to see me before prom yesterday, so I got ready again today since he was upset about no pictures."
The photo quickly went viral, garnering hundreds of thousands of likes and over 50,000 retweets.
Although the majority of the feedback was positive, some of it was not.
Some individuals questioned why he wasn't smiling, and whether she had posted the picture for attention. As a result, many people came to her defense, recalling that dads usually don't smile at all!
