Hayden Trigg, who was diagnosed with spina bifida and cerebral palsy, has been in a wheelchair his entire life. This made it difficult for him to play alongside his friends on conventional playground equipment that is normally not wheelchair-accessible.
But Make-A-Wish Foundation created a way for him and his friends to play together in an amazing, wheelchair-friendly wonder structure.
They created a wheelchair-safe treehouse for Trigg in his own backyard, complete with an 65-foot-long wheelchair ramp.
Now, 7-year-old Trigg and his two siblings can play together in an environment that is completely safe for him, while getting to hang in a custom built tree fort, just like these lucky grandchildren have.
He is also able to use it for physical therapy treatments and to build up his strength with the exercise he gets from playing.

Hayden Trigg was diagnosed with spina bifida and cerebral palsy.
His dependence on a wheelchair has made it difficult for him to play alongside his siblings and friends.
But Make-A-Wish Foundation, Austin Tree Houses, and BioTrust Nutrition came together to build Trigg a wheelchair-friendly tree haven right in his backyard.
Trigg eagerly watched the project go from conception to completion.
The finished product included a 65-foot-long ramp and a private, enclosed structure.
Before Trigg cut the ribbon on his dream play structure, his entire first grade class came to break it in with him.
He went from not being able to to share in all of his friends’ activities to having his own amazing, enviable tree house that everyone can enjoy.
The treehouse is also helping him get more exercise and serves as a space for him to complete his physical therapy sessions.
Now, thanks to the help of volunteers who were happy to devote their time to make a difference, Trigg is able to experience the fun and adventure of a childhood treehouse despite his wheelchair.
