Inside Edition shared a story about a 90-year-old man named Jim Scott who finally reunites with his long-lost family. Jim grew up in the 1930s during the Depression era in Pittsburgh. The only information he knew from back then was that he was an only child.

When Jim found and looked at his birth certificate for the first time, it said that his parents were "unknown." Ever since then, Jim has been wanting to find out who his biological parents were. He made it his Christmas wish to find that out.
To see her father’s wish come true, Jim’s daughter Maryland got on Ancestry.com and found more information than she could have ever imagined. One shocking piece of information they discovered was that just 12 days after Jim was born, he was left at the doorstep of a total stranger’s house inside a box.
Jim was actually named after the two policemen who found him. As Maryland was explaining the situation, she even had pictures of Jim from a newspaper article and a picture of where he'd been left.
Maryland also uncovered photos of Jim’s birth mother and father. When they put Jim's picture side-by-side with a picture of his father, the resemblance was uncanny. Throughout their search, they were able to track down 45 blood relatives.
Inside Edition interviewed George, Jim’s biological nephew, and he said, “For all of us, it was was trying to put this puzzle together.” They even discovered that Jim has a long-lost brother named Felix.

Just a few days before Christmas, Felix made the drive from Pittsburgh to Jim’s home outside of Philadelphia for a much-needed reunion. Felix said, “I’m his younger brother, OK? And we just found out when I turned 86. So Jim owes me 86 Christmas gifts.”
I find it heartwarming that Jim was finally able to locate and connect with the family he has been wondering about his whole life. Ancestry.com is such an amazing tool for situations like this. Have you ever wondered what long-lost relatives you might have?
