Mandy has spent most of her life in the spotlight. Her music and acting careers have kept her busy from her teenage years through the present day.
Now the 36-year-old will get the chance to take some time for something she's been wanting for quite a bit. With an early 2021 due date, we'll be meeting her baby boy before you know it.
Mandy Moore has shared some incredibly special news. The 36-year-old actress is expecting her first child with husband Taylor Goldsmith. She took to Instagram to share the exciting announcement.
"Baby Boy Goldsmith coming early 2021 ," she shared.
Mandy seems so excited to take a break from her busy life to share this special time with her husband. She's been working practically nonstop since she was a teen between her acting and music careers. Recently, Mandy released her seventh studio album, Silver Landings.
She's also been hard at work with her award-winning role as Rebecca Pearson in This Is Us. When talking about the character in 2017, during the show's second season, she told E! News of Rebecca, "I feel like deep down, the soul of who this woman is I'm familiar with."
"I feel a kinship with her," she continued.
"I was most concerned about was feeling maternal, not having children myself. But being part of a project like this definitely makes my ovaries start kicking."
When asked about having kids with Taylor, whom she would marry the following year, she smiled widely.
"Maybe," she said. "I want kids sooner than later."
She also spoke to Parents about the prospect of starting a family that same year. "I'm not sure when. Right now, my main focus and priority is my career but that won't always be the case," she shared.
"I have so much admiration and compassion for Rebecca. I think that she is not a perfect mother, whatever that definition may be. I think she's flawed and she's made some really difficult choices that not everyone's made in their life. I think she's pretty fantastic. Her family is everything to her."
The role is also special to her because it's the first time she's even played a mom. "I've never portrayed a wife or mother before. I've been lucky enough to have the opportunity to play this character from 22 to 60, and sort of have this unique lens of her life from so many different crossroads — the choices she's made and how it's reflected in present day," she said.
"It definitely has me thinking about my own life, the choices I've made, and how family planning factors into where I see my life going."
