Little Boy Throws Pitch, Only To Get An Incredible Ballpark Surprise

6-year-old Devin thought he was going to the town's baseball game to sweep the bases between innings and throw out the first pitch, which is already exciting enough for a little boy. But when he threw the pitch and got to third base, his life forever changed.

The last time Devin saw his father was Christmas, 2013. That's because his dad, Sgt. Devin Maconeghy, just got back from serving in the Marine Corps. For the first time in nearly three years, Devin and Devin, Jr. were about to be reunited, all thanks to some sneaky planning. Devin’s mother Crystal had been planning the surprise reunion for weeks.

"My heart is racing. Words can’t describe how it’s going to feel," Devin said as he waited in the wings, watching his son on the field from afar. The long-awaited reunion wouldn’t happen until after the first inning, so he got to see Devin, Jr. throw the first pitch, run around the bases, and brush them off.

As the Sgt.'s name came over the loudspeaker, Devin, Jr. runs over to his pround father. Thousands in the crowd stood up to cheer the tear-jerking moment. "It was hard to keep my composure. I just wanted to get to him," Sgt. Devin Maconeghy said.
