During a homeschooling session, Addyson Thorn of Greenbrier, Arkansas got an important lesson from her father.
Paden Thorn, a former Marine, decided to step in for the day's schooling as he taught her the Pledge of Allegiance. Just like many students across the U.S. who will recite this pledge every morning at school, Addyson will do the same. Of course, it holds quite a different meaning for her, coming from a military family.
With the help of her Marine father, she slowly recited the pledge. He starts off going line by line. She repeats after him – stumbling through the words a few times. But she eventually makes it through, and her dad beams. He couldn't be more proud of his little girl!
"Starting the first day of school right!" Addyson's mother Alexis wrote on her Facebook page.
After being away from his family, Paden is making up for lost time in the sweetest way ever. He plans to spend quality time with his daughter and will continue to recite the Pledge of Allegiance with her.
