Doctors Expected Him To Die. What His Teacher Did? WOW!

It takes a very special person to be a teacher.

Lately, it feels like I've been hearing too much about the teachers who do more harm than good, but it's important to remember that for these select few, there are hundreds of teachers out there going above and beyond the call of duty every day.

When first-grade teacher Lindsey Painter learned one of her students in New Braunfels, TX was very sick, it broke her heart. Six-year-old Matthew Parker, who is one of three triplets, had even asked Santa for a new kidney for Christmas.

Matthew suffered from kidney failure shortly after he was born and spends about four hours each day going through painful dialysis. After a failed kidney transplant, doctors hoped for a miracle donor, someone unrelated to the little boy who just might be able to save his life.

These kinds of donations don't happen every day, but Painter knew she had to get tested for her young, suffering young student. “The coordinator of the hospital called me Christmas Eve to tell me I was a match," Painter, a mother of two, told News 4 San Antonio

Now this school teacher just might save the little boy's life. "She was selfless and just a giving person," Matthew's mom, Lisa, told News 4. "I think it's really a miracle."
