How Meghan Markle’s Family Has Tried To Embarrass Her Since The Royal Wedding

Meghan Markle should be enjoying her new life as a member of the British royal family. Unfortunately, her family keeps getting in the way.

Before her highly anticipated nuptials this past May, members of Meghan's family just couldn't keep their mouths shut and spoke to the press about the now-Duchess of Sussex whenever they were given the chance. Things really escalated when Meghan's father, Thomas Markle, was revealed to have staged a set of paparazzi photos of himself in an attempt to portray himself "in a positive light" — a scheme devised by Meghan's half-sister, Samantha Grant.

Thankfully, Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry went off without a hitch — but if either of them thought that the drama would end as soon as their honeymoon began, they were wrong.

Thomas and Samantha still speak to the media regularly, continuing to go public with their feelings about not just Meghan but also the royal family at large.

Here's a brief timeline of how Meghan's family has seemingly tried to ruin her image ever since she became a royal…

Meghan Markle's father Thomas broke royal protocol in a major way by revealing what Harry thought about President Donald Trump in a televised interview with Good Morning Britain.

Referring to a private conversation he once had with his now son-in-law, Thomas dished, "All Harry actually did was say because Trump was new, he said: 'Give him a chance.'"

"I think Harry's probably changed his mind by now — I certainly hope he has," Thomas added.

In that same interview, Thomas revealed that he was upset by the fact that he missed his daughter's wedding.

"The unfortunate thing for me now is I'm a footnote in one of the greatest moments in history rather than the dad walking her down the aisle," he told Good Morning Britain. "That upsets me somewhat. It was a very emotional moment for me, like I said, I cried about it. I wanted to walk my daughter down the aisle."

Thomas told TMZ that he was livid with the Queen's decision to meet with Trump, but not him.

"If the Queen is willing to meet our arrogant, ignorant, and insensitive president she has no excuse not to meet me, I’m nowhere near as bad," he said. OK then!

Meghan's half-sister Samantha, who now goes by the name Samantha Markle, slammed her in a series of tweets posted on her private account, calling Meghan the "Duchess of Nonsense" and deeming Harry a "wuss" who lets his wife "mistreat everyone who has been close to her."

"Diana would be ashamed," Samantha added before telling Harry, "Stop wearing Meg's skivvies and bra and take your pants off of her!"

In a particularly inflammatory interview with the Sun, Thomas claimed Meghan looked "terrified" recently and that she was being put "under too much pressure" by the British royal family.

"I see it in her eyes, I see it in her face and I see it in her smile," Thomas told the British tabloid.

"I've seen her smile for years. I know her smile," he continued. "I don't like the one I'm seeing now. This one isn't even a stage smile — this is a pained smile."

He then went on to criticize the "ridiculous" dress code Meghan has to follow as a royal: "Why in 2018 are we dressing like the 1930s? Why do they have to cover their knees?"

Samantha lashed out at the royal family on Twitter, calling it "an embarrassment for being so cold" and telling Meghan that it was her fault if their father dies.

"Act like a humanitarian act like a woman!" she wrote. "If our father dies I’m holding you responsible, Meg!"

Samantha bashed Meghan's decision to visit a tribute to Nelson Mandela later that same day, writing in another tweet, "Glad you have so much time to gallivant around paying tribute to others while ignoring your own father!

During an interview that allegedly lasted nine hours over the course of three days, Thomas told the Daily Mail that he hasn't spoken to Meghan in 10 weeks and believes she's "cut me off completely."

"Perhaps it would be easier for Meghan if I died" because "everybody would be filled with sympathy for her," he said, adding, "But I hope we reconcile. I'd hate to die without speaking to Meghan again."

Wow. In the wake of their most recent comments, do you think Meghan's relationship with those members of her family is officially damaged beyond repair?
