Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently arrived in Australia for their royal tour down under. Since then, they've received a ton of gifts from appreciative fans. But one gift from a young boy, Gavin Hazelwood, stood out from the rest.
Six-year-old Gavin stayed home "a bit sick" from school on Wednesday. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were due in Melbourne that day, and he needed time to make Meghan's special gift: a pasta necklace.
"It was my idea… [but] Mum helped a bit," Gavin explained.
"I did the pasta with gold paint. Mum helped me thread through the necklace."
Gavin also made a sign for Meghan: "I Made You a Necklace." He dressed up in his finest attire – a pilot costume, naturally. Then, he waited behind the barricade for the Duchess to pass by.
Gavin's mission was a success. The gold pasta necklace caught Meghan's eye, and she immediately put it on and wore it over her navy blue dress for the rest of her visit.
Thanks to the "Meghan effect," pasta necklaces might just become the next big trend!
