Meghan Markle Will Have A Second Baby Shower In The UK, Over A Month After Her New York Shindig

Meghan Markle is free from royal duties as of this week. The Duchess of Sussex is now on maternity leave. Baby Sussex is due sometime in the next month or so, and there's still lots to prepare. Frogmore Cottage, where Harry and Meghan will raise their little bundle of joy, is still under renovation. There's also one more thing on Meghan's to-do list before she gives birth: Reports are suggesting Meghan will have an intimate baby shower in the UK in the coming days.

The UK baby shower will definitely be different from Meghan's New York City shindig last month. The stateside shower was reportedly a star-studded affair that featured many of Meghan's famous friends. As baby showers aren't as common in the UK, this affair will surely be smaller and likely limited to members of the royal family. Whereas close friends Serena Williams and Genevieve Hillis hosted the NYC bash, Us Weekly is reporting that Kate Middleton may host the UK event. This further puts to rest rumors of a feud between the sisters-in-law.

Fans of the royal family are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's baby. The couple announced they were expecting last October.

Meghan carried out her last official royal appearance before the baby's arrival with a visit to Morocco. She is now free to relax and prepare for her bundle of joy, said to be arriving sometime in late April or early May.

Before Meghan could no longer be medically cleared to travel, she gathered with close friends to celebrate her little one with a baby shower in New York City. Serena Williams and Genevieve Hillis hosted the event.

There were plenty of famous faces in attendance. Amal Clooney, Gayle King, and Abigail Spencer were reportedly among those at the celebration.

Although the floral arrangements from the New York City event were donated to charity, some took issue with the duchess's shower. Some felt it was inappropriate for her to have such a decadent celebration.

Baby showers aren't a common practice in the UK, so many believed the NYC event would be the only baby shower Meghan had. Now we're learning that may not be the case.

Us Weekly and the Daily Mail are both reporting on some possible leaked details regarding the second celebration for Meghan and Baby Sussex in the UK. It's believed that Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, will be in attendance.

Us Weekly is also reporting that Kate Middleton will be hosting the UK event. Kate was unable to attend the New York City shower because it coincided with her children's break from school.

That particular bit of information flies in the face of recent rumors that blame Kate and Meghan for causing a rift between William and Harry. Despite large-scale speculation, there's no actual proof that the sisters-in-law have any issue with each other.

The UK shower is said to be a smaller event, with fewer than 10 people in attendance. It has been rumored that Meghan's pal, Victoria Beckham, will also attend.

Since Frogmore Cottage, where Harry and Meghan will raise their little one, is still under renovation, the event will likely take place in Buckingham Palace.

The UK celebration sounds like a sweet way to bridge traditions. While Harry and Meghan's child will likely grow up with royal traditions, it's nice to see that Meghan's nonroyal background is also taken into consideration.

Everyone is dying to know whether the couple is having a boy or a girl. Many believe they will be having a boy because of some blue-wrapped gifts that were spotted at the NYC baby shower.

The royal family never announces gender prior to the birth of the child, so it's possible Harry and Meghan are waiting to be surprised themselves. We'll see when we finally get to meet Baby Sussex sometime in the coming weeks!
