It looks like Michael Phelps' team is getting a little bit bigger! The Olympian and his wife, Nicole Johnson, just announced that they're expecting a third child. They enlisted the help of their older two, 2-year-old Boomer and 1-year-old Beckett. Judging by the captions on the photo, it seems the pregnancy might have been a surprise to the couple. "Oops we did it again I get to be a mama x3!! #furbabymama x2 #p3 #herewegoagain," Nicole wrote alongside her post.
Michael has talked about wanting a big family before. In 2017, he told Entertainment Tonight, "We always talked about three, so second one is on the way."
"We’ll see what happens," he hinted while Nicole was still pregnant with Beckett.
Now it seems like that dream is becoming a reality as they expand to a family of five. It's sure to be an exciting adventure for the man with the most gold in Olympic history. We can't help but wonder if any of these three little ones will get bitten by the swimming bug themselves!

Michael and Nicole have two beautiful children. Boomer is 2, and Beckett is 1.
When Nicole was still pregnant with Beckett, Michael spoke to Entertainment Tonight about his growing family. He told them he and Nicole had always talked about having three kids.
He was also gearing up for the added responsibility of another little one at the time, which both he and Nicole have clearly mastered. He noted, "We’re going man-to-man now, and it’s probably going to be more challenging."
The news of another baby means that Michael and Nicole will soon be outnumbered by their little ones. Judging by how wonderfully they're doing with Boomer and Beckett, they seem up for the challenge.
Nicole and Michael made the announcement of baby No. 3 a family affair. Both boys have Instagram accounts (run by their parents), so the family shared four separate announcements!
Michael posted a sweet photo of Boomer and Beckett in a play Jeep with balloons on the front spelling out "baby."
"#3 on the way!" wrote the Olympian. "Can’t wait to see the journey that this takes us on!!! #luckyman #boyorgirl? #P3."
Nicole used the same photo for her announcement.
"Oops we did it again ," she joked. "I get to be a mama x3!! #furbabymama x2 #p3 #herewegoagain."
Michael and Nicole manage Instagram accounts for their sons, so of course the boys had to make announcements of their own! On Boomer's account, they wrote, "I asked mom for a new baby for Christmas last year and …. well my wish finally came true!!! I wonder if I’m gonna have little brother or a little sister? #P3."
On Beckett's account, they wrote a funny message from the 1-year-old. His account said, "I’m not sure what this means but I was just told I’m promoted to Big Brother!! #P3."
It seems like the family of four is eager to find out if they'll be adding a little girl or another little boy to the pack. Whichever it is, we're sure that the new baby will be surrounded by so much love.
Based on the timing of the announcement, we could be meeting the newest addition to the Phelps family sometime late in the fall or early in the winter. That means they'll likely get to enjoy the holiday season as a family of five!
Of course, everyone wonders whether any of Michael's kids will follow in his footsteps and get into competitive swimming. Since Michael advocates for water safety, he's gotten his kids in the water at an early age. We'll have to keep an eye out to see if any of the three can give the Olympian a run (or stroke) for his money!
