Meet military mom Tina Simpson.
Simpson had been deployed for nine months to Afghanistan and ended up returning home earlier than expected, just in time for one of Jessica's basketball games. So naturally, this felt like the perfect opportunity to sneak in and surprise her daughter, and the outcome was a moment that left everyone in the gym with teary eyes and a big smile on their face.
Right before Jessica’s game, an announcer asks her what her one wish would be. Jessica, thinking on her feet in front of a whole audience of people, quickly realizes what’s about to happen.
She's overcome with anticipation and excitement. When she finally turns around to see her mom, tears flooded my eyes. This pre-basketball game homecoming was beautifully planned out, and the reactions from all of Jessica’s teammates were truly heartwarming.
Tina and Jessica’s reunion reminded me of when this military mom surprised her three children during a regular school day.
Jessica kept telling her friends that she couldn’t wait until her mom got home from deployment, and to see her reaction to her mom’s grand reveal was absolutely beautiful to watch.
