Minnesota Police Officer Seen Reading To Children

One officer from the Duluth Police Department in Minnesota took a break from patrolling to read to local children and it’s an interaction that will certainly tug at your heartstrings.

In a video shared on the department’s Facebook page with the caption "Squad Car Story Time," Officer Lepak is seen sitting on a chair as four children stand by to hear him read the children's book Creepy Carrots!

Aside from the police officer's heartwarming act (which is reminiscent of the New York City police officer who danced with parade-goers at the Pride parade, and the ones who played basketball with a group of teens), it's also exciting to see how attentive the tykes are. Not only do they pay close attention, they even eagerly ask Officer Lepak questions about the story. They are also all ears as he answers them. (Just listen to the adorable young boy at the :16 mark!)

Several commenters were also delighted to see the cop lending his time in such a positive way, including one who wrote, "Officer Lepak — you rock!"

Another chimed in: "Thanks for sharing such an uplifting clip."
