In what appeared to be a normal and working baby monitor, a mother noticed that one of her baby’s eyes was glowing in the footage. Even though she shrugged it off at first, she quickly grew concerned and realized that she needed to get her baby checked out immediately.
According to Daily Mail, Benny’s mother was watching him on his baby monitor one night when she noticed that “one of her son’s eyes looked completely black and the other looked like a shining light on the screen.”
The news outlet reports that at first, she thought it was just a weird video error on her baby monitor, but when she invited Benny’s grandma over to take a look, she noticed that his one eye looked “cloudy in certain light.”
When Benny’s mother took him to his pediatrician, the doctor scheduled him for an MRI, which showed a rare type of cancer of the retina called retinoblastoma.
The news outlet spoke to a pediatric oncologist who urges parents to pay attention to similar signs in their children, including when they take photos or videos of their children and they notice that one of their eyes is glowing in the footage.
