Louise and Jakk Adams were so excited for their pregnancy, but when Louise’s water broke at just 22 weeks, they were told there was actually no hope for her to reach term.
Doctors told her there was nothing that either they or she could do and apologized each time they claimed that their baby would miscarry.
But Louise wouldn’t accept that news. And it turns out it’s good she didn’t.
She researched, hoped, and prayed, and she decided to keep on trying. She drank over seven pints (112 ounces) of water a day, she rested, and she stayed positive.
Those many liters of water ended up paying off. They helped rebuild her amniotic fluids, protected the baby, and in the end proved every single doctor wrong.
Another 13 weeks went by, and their beautiful baby boy Joseph was born.
He was healthy, weighing in at five pounds and 10 ounces, and there's most likely never been a moment these parents were more proud — or happy.
Hearing news from doctors like the Adamses did is not always something people can come back from or go up against, but we can all learn to be more optimistic from them to find strength in our darkest times.
I’m sure they thank God they did. Now they have their biggest blessing in their arms.
