When a mosque in Pflugerville, TX, was vandalized last week, a 7-year-old boy emptied his piggy bank and donated his savings to the center. On Sunday, he was rewarded for his act of kindness in a big way.
On November 16, shortly after the terror attacks in Paris, community members of the mosque found “feces smeared on the sidewalk and torn pages of the Quran scattered on the ground,” according to PIX11. Police are investigating the act as a hate crime. That's when Jack Swanson collected all of his pennies (with the help of his mother) and handed a $20 donation to the Islamic Center of Pflugerville to help.
"It's disgusting, it's gross. It doesn't matter what you believe, or I believe, or he believes, or anybody believes, all faith is important," Jack's mom, Laura Swanson, told KVUE.
Human rights lawyer Arsalan Iftikhar told Metro.co.uk that what Jack did “brought tears to [his] eyes," and reached out to his mother shortly after. After finding out that Jack was saving up money for a new Apple iPad, Iftikhar decided to buy him one as a thank-you.
The note attached to the gift read: "Dear Jack, you had saved $20 in your piggy bank for an Apple iPad. But then a local Islamic mosque was vandalised. So you donated your $20 to this local Texas mosque. Because of your amazing generosity and kind heart, please enjoy this Apple iPad with our sincere thanks. Love, The American Muslim Community."

The Islamic Center’s board member Faisal Naeem believes Jack’s generous act doesn’t have a price tag.
"It's 20 bucks, but coming from Jack collecting his pennies, it's worth 20 million bucks to me and to our community," Naeem told CNN.
