When Yuliana Torres-Aguirre was pregnant with her little bundle of joy, she and her husband were expecting the big arrival to come around Father's Day. Little did they know, their baby girl was about to come a lot sooner than that.
"I've said it before," Yuliana explains in the video below, posted on May 11, 2017. "I'm very blessed. She's my miracle."
She recalls going into labor four months early, which shocked both her and her doctors. The baby girl, Neelam, was born on February 10 instead of June 1.
When the parents realized their child weighed a mere 1 lb., 6 oz., Yuliana begged, "Please save her!"
"I think I was praying because I was so scared that something was wrong with her," Yuliana says with tears flowing from her eyes. "Because they told me, 'You're really early.'"
Luckily, Neelam was brought to the NICU. She endured her first surgery after surviving through two brain bleeds. Now, this tiny newborn is the Torres-Aguirre family's miracle preemie.
After healing at the hospital, getting healthy, and being reintroduced to her caring mother's arms, Neelam is finally celebrating her first 90 days with her family by her side.
