Twitter Thread About ‘Netflix-Era Kids’ Depicts The Realities Children Today Will Never Face

Kids today will never know the struggles we adults had to face when we were their age. Walking barefoot uphill in the snow, both ways to and from school; adjusting the antenna on top of the one television in the house, only to get the nightly news delivered to your living room in a thick layer of static; having to play games like "Slug Bug" and "I Spy" on road trips to pass the time. You get what I'm saying. Life was HARD before iPads, the internet, and streaming services, but hey, look at us! We survived and turned out just fine.

Twitter user @FlossAus had the internet in a tizzy after her recent tweet about Netflix-era kids went viral on the social networking platform. Even though streaming services like Netflix and Hulu have only been widely accessible for less than a decade, one thing is certain: Kids these days will NEVER know what it's like to watch shows how they were intended to be watched — one episode at a time.

It's hard to imagine what the world was like before Netflix.

I don't know about you guys, but this was what watching TV used to look like for me.

But nowadays, watching TV looks more like this.

Twitter user @FlossAus pointed out what the kids today are missing out on when it comes to television.

Remember the good old days?

Legit cannot think of anything more accurate.

Remember when you couldn't just hit "play" on any episode you missed?

"What's a rerun?" — anyone under the age of 25

Not gonna lie, this tweet needs some punctuation, but yes, agreed.

Raise your hand if you still have VHS tapes!

raise both hands

If this isn't a walk down Nostalgia Lane, I don't know what is!

Who remembers doing this?

There's always one, isn't there? Or in this case, 1.4 thousand others who liked this Twitter user's question.

Did everyone collectively just make this face too?

This is SO true.
