Strangers Accuse Actress Olivia Wilde Of Being Unsafe After She Shares Photo of Son In Car Seat

Being a mom is hard enough as it is without having strangers criticize your every move. Unfortunately, for celebrity moms, their parenting is broadcasted to people all over the world for unsolicited advice and comments.

Hollywood actress Olivia Wilde regularly shares photos of the children she shares with fellow actor Jason Sudeikis on her Instagram page. She's usually met with nice replies and praise for her parenting.

On January 17, 2018, the mom of two uploaded a sweet photo of her son, Otis, sleeping in the car while she was parked outside of their home. However, moms and other strangers were quick to mommy-shame the 33-year-old actress for how he was buckled into his seat.

Despite her post being about car seat safety, commenters pointed out that his buckle was too low. While photographs are only a snapshot of what goes on during the day, people assumed she had been driving with him in the car with an "unsafe" car seat.

Olivia recently posted a photo of her son Otis in the car that had some fans (and parents) torn.

She posted this adorable photo on January 17, 2018, of Otis sleeping in his car seat.

In her caption, Olivia stressed the importance of car seat safety. "Safety is obviously not something you wanna mess around with," she wrote. "Find the right car seats and install them correctly!"

So it's surprising that people started mommy-shaming her for the way Otis was bucked into his seat.

Olivia wrote in her caption that the pair had been sitting in the car at home because she didn't want to take Otis out yet since he was peacefully sleeping.

However, some people came at her in the comments and gave unsolicited advice about his car seat. This mom decided to school Olivia on the proper use of a car seat.

"Make sure the straps are nice and snug," she wrote after a plethora of other tips.

Another commenter wrote that his chest clip was too low and that she wasn't judging and "just passing on valuable information."

While these comments may seem harmless, many celebrity parents have taken offense to them because photos are just a one-second snapshot of something going on.

Olivia has not yet commented on the shaming.

However, Olivia also had fans who came to her defense and told mommy-shamers to leave her alone — especially since the whole post was about safety!

As a mother of two, Olivia probably knows how to care for her kiddos.

Olivia is no stranger to mommy-shaming. When she posted this sweet photo kissing her son on the lips, people decided to comment rude things and told her what she should and shouldn't do with her own child.

The good news is, Olivia never seems bothered by comments from others and continues to care for her children however she sees fit!
