It's a shame that we have to share such a beautiful and perfect planet with some really bad and evil people! Just about everyone just wants to live a happy life and be loved by their family, but there are some people who will take advantage of that just so they can take your money!
There's a new scam that everyone should make themselves aware of. While there have only been a few reports of it so far, this information should be spread far and wide. Anyone who has a child, a grandchild, or a close friend needs to watch the video below and share this with everyone you know!
The scam is pretty ingenious in its simplicity. A scammer calls someone that they know has a kid, uses a mean-sounding and aggressive voice, and threatens to kill that child in 60 seconds unless the parent wires money to them.
A lot of phone scams try to get you to wire money to them using family, but usually it's asking for bail money or something that isn't life-or-death. Even clear-headed people will be put on edge if they're told their child will be killed in one minute unless they shell out $500 or so.
The beauty of this scam is that it's so intense and done so quickly, but just in case you get a call like this, demand that you get to speak to your loved one. If this is a real kidnapping, they'll always let you talk to the loved one because it's almost a business deal in a sense.
But if the bad guy doesn't let you talk to your loved one, then you can be totally sure it's a scam so hang up! Or heck, try to have some fun with them! Record the conversation just to see if you can get any information out of them to send to the police!
