One fine afternoon in South Carolina, a few girls were enjoying a nice horse ride with some of their favorite four-legged friends when one decided to check out a muddy puddle.
The bond between a horse or pony and its rider is unlike any other. The two have to learn how to trust each other, and how to read each other's behaviors. Every time you get onto a different horse, you can expect a vaguely different riding experience. Maybe some horses need more of a nudge from your heel to move forward than another, while another might need more calculated convincing to slow down from a gallop to a trot.
Every true rider knows the ins and outs of their equestrian partner.
When this little girl went out for a ride on her pony, Lightning, on this afternoon, she may not have known exactly what was in store for her, but I bet you that she wasn't surprised when it happened!
As this white pony steps into a shallow puddle of muddy water, he seems to really enjoy it. He starts to splash around with his front hoofs. His young rider and her companions laugh along with them as Lightning has the time of his life.
Then, all of a sudden, this horse pulls a fast one on his rider. Her face is in utter shock, but once she realizes what happened, she can't stop smiling!
