Pregnant Model Unveils ‘Heart-Shaped’ Baby Bump On Instagram And Her Belly Causes A Stir

Gala Caldirola, 24, is famous in Spain for her modeling career and numerous appearances on reality TV.

The beautiful bombshell is currently five and a half months pregnant with Chilean soccer player Mauricio Isla.

After Gala revealed her baby's gender on Instagram (it's a girl), she took to social media with a photo of her baby bump. Viewers couldn't help but notice its strange and unusual shape.

Gala's doctor realized her uterus was shaped like a heart, a rare phenomenon that signifies abnormal uterine growth. But it wasn't until her bump started growing bigger that she began to see a more defined, heart-shaped baby bump from the outside.

Now the photo is going viral…

Can you see it?

"My little light is undoubtedly the fruit of love."

But this past week, Gala posted a brand-new photo that made her pregnancy news a whole lot sweeter.

As it turns out, the pregnant mom-to-be has a baby bump shaped like a heart!

It's a rare phenomenon, but some women have a heart-shaped uterus, referred to as a "bicornuate" uterus.

As Gala's baby bump grew, a clearer outline of the heart shape began to protrude from her belly.

"In the echographs the doctor had already told me that my uterus had a heart shape and today for the first time I could see it with such clarity," Gala wrote.

"This is beautiful and curious. Probably not the only one in the world, but it is the first time I have see it.

"I would love to know if someone else had seen it."

This photo is now taking the internet by storm.

According to CheckPregnancy.com, "The literal meaning of a bicornuate uterus is 'two horns.'

"This is a formation problem in the uterus. Just five weeks into gestation, the uterus is formed and makes its way to into the pelvis as two 'horns,' where it will eventually fuse into one."

"This shape makes it more likely that baby will prefer the head up/bottom down position, or 'breech' position," midwife Lesley Gilchrist told HuffPost UK.

"Although, we can’t diagnose a bicornuate uterus simply by looking at the abdomen."

To find out if a woman has bicornuate uterus, doctors must perform a hysterosalpingogram, or the procedure known as hysteroscopy, then confirm with an ultrasound.

Women with a bicornuate womb have a slightly higher risk of miscarriage and preterm birth.

In some cases, doctors may recommend a caesarean birth.

In 2010, an online blogger named "Mama Jan" shared a photo of her bicornuate uterus during childbirth, writing:

"You can see the sort of white line that goes halfway down the center — there is a septum inside that divides my uterus that far down, so both my babies were cooped up in the right side of my uterus with their legs up the left.

"A normal uterus is pear-shaped."
