Prince George is now 10 years old! The eldest child of Kate Middleton and Prince William hit the major milestone on July 22, 2023.
The birthday is a major one for most kids, and George is no exception. Here is how the birthday was celebrated.
Royal watchers were delighted by a new portrait of the prince, which is a royal tradition that occurs every year on his birthday. There's no word on what kind of birthday party George had, though it can be imagined that he enjoyed the day with family and friends like many 10-year-olds do.
Ahead of the big day, royal expert Katie Nicholl talked with ET about the possible ways the prince's birthday might be celebrated. According to her, the Prince and Princess of Wales "are known to celebrate big birthdays, but they are known to do it below the radar."

She went on to describe that any party George might have would not be too over the top. "It's not going to be showy in any way. A lavish party, where there's a huge expense, is just not William and Kate's style."
The royal expert also revealed that if there was a party, the theme was likely centered around sports. And Kate is supposed to be baking a cake, of course!
"She still always bakes the cake, she will be doing a tea party," Katie shared. "I'm told there's going to be something of a football theme involved in the celebrations. There's more space [at their Norfolk home] and of course it's where they're completely protected. So whatever does happen will stay very firmly behind closed doors."
The guest list for the party likely included include his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, along with George's school friends. "I'm told that this birthday party will be family, of course, close friends, friends from his old school, [and] friends from George's new school," Katie shared.
Previously, in 2019, the family spent some time in the private Caribbean island of Mustique for the prince's birthday. The island is a place that holds special value to the royals.
While there probably won't be any public spotlight of the party, Katie shared, “This is a big birthday for him, it’s an important birthday, and he strikes me as someone who is very comfortable in his own skin." We hope that Prince George brings in the double digits with the best party ever!
