Prince Harry Admits He Had Bigoted Views Before His Relationship With Meghan Markle

Ahead of the release of Prince Harry's memoir, Spare, the royal has been opening up about his life.

In a new interview set to air Sunday on 60 Minutes, Harry told Anderson Cooper that he was "incredibly naïve" about how the British press would treat Meghan Markle when they formed a relationship. He also said he was probably a little bit bigoted before he started dating her.

"What Meghan had to go through was similar in some part to what Kate and what Camilla went through — very different circumstances," he says in a clip. "But then you add in the race element, which was what the press — British press jumped on straight away."

"I went into this incredibly naïve," he continued. "I had no idea the British press were so bigoted. Hell, I was probably bigoted before the relationship with Meghan."

It was such an intense acknowledgment, Anderson had to clarify it. "You think you were bigoted before the relationship with Meghan?" Anderson asked.

"I don't know," Harry said. "Put it this way, I didn't see what I now see."
