Prince Harry Furious Over Rumors That Meghan Markle Is ‘Banned’ From Wearing Royal Jewels

The royal family is not happy about the recent stories involving Meghan Markle and the Queen's Royal Collection of jewelry.

Last week, a British paper wrote that Queen Elizabeth had decided NOT to let Meghan wear certain jewels from her Royal Collection, like those worn by Princess Diana. This decision was rumored to be the result of Meghan's "unimpressive" behavior as well as her lower rank.

It's a juicy rumor — except that it's apparently not real. In fact, Prince Harry and the royal family are kind of upset about the story.

"There is anger that these claims circulating are simply not true," a royal source told the Daily Express. "They are rightly incensed."

Another source explained that the Queen has already lent Meghan jewelry from the Royal Collection, including her wedding tiara. There haven't really been any other opportunities for Meghan to wear a tiara yet.

"The jewelry in question is only usually worn at extremely special functions or state occasions, and there simply haven't been many of those since Meghan became a member of the Royal Family," the source explained.

So there you have it. Now can everyone chill out before Prince Harry loses it?!

Last week, British tabloid the Sun published a report that Queen Elizabeth had banned Meghan Markle from wearing certain jewels from the Royal Collection, supposedly due to her lower rank in the family.

"The Queen likes Meghan personally but this is about the hierarchy," a "senior source" told the outlet.

“She is showing that maintaining the correct order and precedence within the family is important."

Among the supposedly "banned" jewels were those made famous by Princess Diana. The report went on to explain that Meghan "can be difficult" and demanding — rumors that have circulated plenty of times before, despite a million attempts at debunking them.

It's true that Meghan hasn't yet worn a tiara to an event, while Kate Middleton has worn one many times. But that's because Meghan has only been a duchess for under a year, and she just hasn't had a tiara-worthy occasion to attend yet!

"The jewelry in question is only usually worn at extremely special functions or state occasions, and there simply haven't been many of those since Meghan became a member of the Royal Family," a second source told the Express.

Last year, there was a similar controversy because Meghan didn't wear a tiara to a state dinner, while Kate did.

But even then, it wasn't due to preferential treatment or some official hierarchy. It was because Kate was attending an official banquet hosted by the Queen herself — definitely an occasion for a tiara!

Meanwhile, Meghan was at a state dinner in Fiji. It was a slightly less-formal occasion that didn't require a tiara; plus, Meghan would've had to transport one all the way from London.

Also, the Queen definitely has lent Meghan jewels from the Royal Collection before.

"It is worth noting that the Queen lent Meghan a tiara for the wedding, gave her earrings for her first royal engagement, and had just agreed to partly fund her new household," an insider said.

On that last point: Meghan and Harry announced recently that they're splitting from Kensington Palace, where they shared a household with Prince William and Kate, to form their own household at Buckingham Palace. There, their household will be under the Queen.

Also relevant: Meghan's engagement ring includes a couple of gems from Princess Diana. So the idea that she's forbidden from wearing jewels that Princess Diana once wore is pretty silly.

Speaking of Meghan's engagement ring and this "Jewelry Drama," Meghan was spotted without her engagement ring at an official event in March. People were very confused.

And as always, some fans leapt to the most dramatic conclusions — like that there's trouble in paradise between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

But the more likely explanation is that Meghan's engagement ring no longer fits her finger.

She is in her final trimester of pregnancy, after all. Swelling of the fingers is a common symptom in pregnant women. Plus, she was still wearing her wedding band.

Nonetheless, people will seemingly take any opportunity to drag Meghan's name through the mud! It would be totally understandable if Prince Harry and the rest of the family were upset at reporters for fanning the flames.

There was reportedly "a great deal of anger" over this most recent story.

Meghan is due to give birth to her first child in the next few weeks, so hopefully the family isn't letting these unfortunate rumors get them down.
