Prince Harry Met Orphan Boy In 2004 And Invited Him To The Royal Wedding 14 Years Later

In 2004, Prince Harry was gearing up for college at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst when he took a trip to Africa for volunteer work. Following in his mother's shoes, Harry grew up impassioned about helping the poverty-stricken kingdom, which has one of the world's highest HIV rates.

While in volunteering in Africa, Harry met a four-year-old boy named Mutsu Potsane at the Mants'ase Children's Home for orphans. Harry felt an instant connection to Matsu, and the feeling was mutual. The little boy attached himself to Harry because it was one of the first times in his life he was ever showed love and affection. Harry even bought the little boy a pair of brand new wellington boots.

The pair became pen pals and never lost touch. "I think of the time were together, it was the good and nice day. Every day when I am sleeping I always dream about you and the things we have made such as planting of the trees which is the peach trees," Mutsu wrote in a letter to the prince. "I feel very happy when I dream I remember about you because you have been with me from my childhood and you have bought me the blue gum boots."

Harry was so inspired by the trip to Africa and his new friendship with Mutsu that in 2006, he co-founded his children's charity Sentebale with Lesotho's Prince Seeiso. Every time Harry returned to Africa, he would reunite with Mutsu, who grew into a happier and more well-adjusted teen.

14 years after their initial meeting, it's being reported that Harry flew Mutsu to the Windsor Castle, along with a group of Sentebale representatives. The charity's Twitter page shared a photo from the day, along with a caption: "Congratulations to the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex, from everyone at Sentebale We were delighted that some of our Lesotho team were able to join in the very special celebrations in Windsor today!"

As Harry made his way to the chapel alongside William, he spotted Mutsu in the cheering crowd. The two old friends locked eyes and smiled at one another.
