Prince William and Kate Middleton are truly beloved among royal family fans. The two are watched closely, as they will one day be king and queen. That's also part of the reason why the "Fab Four" — the Cambridges and the Sussexes — are splitting up their households.
While William and Kate continue their training to one day rule, Harry and Meghan have different ideas for how they want to run their royal household. There have been rumors that the split has caused tension between the couples, and fans feel that a recent Instagram post by the Cambridges might indicate just how true that is.
Both couples recently posted tributes to Queen Elizabeth. The Queen celebrated her 93rd birthday on April 21. While Harry and Meghan's tribute was heartfelt, personal, and playful, fans of the royal family felt William and Kate's was a little bit shady.
Of all the photos they could have posted, they chose one that got people talking.
As Harry and Meghan announced their plans to marry to the world, many looked for signs of drama in the royal family. There have been a lot of rumors pitting the couple against Harry's brother, William, and William's wife, Kate.
Initially referred to as the Fab Four, the couples seemed to be bonding wonderfully. However, rumors began to arise when people noted how close the birth of William and Kate's first child would be to Harry and Meghan's nuptials.
The Sun also reported that there was a disagreement about Princess Charlotte's dress for Harry and Meghan's wedding. Kate was reportedly "in tears" over the ordeal.
Representatives for the royal family have denied rumors of a feud.
Things intensified as Harry and Meghan prepared for the birth of their child in recent months.
Among the preparations, the Sussexes made the decision to move to Frogmore Cottage, which the Queen helped them renovate as a wedding present. This meant they would no longer share Kensington Palace with William and Kate.
As the households split, rumors continued to fly. Yet both couples seem to ignore the reports and continue going about their business.
But people have taken a recent Instagram post by the Cambridges as a sly sign that the feud is alive and well.
Both couples recently posted to celebrate the Queen on her 93rd birthday.
Harry and Meghan chose a heartfelt wish. They posted a series of photos of the Queen and wrote, "Happy Birthday Your Majesty, Ma’am, Granny. Wishing you the most wonderful day! Harry & Meghan."
William and Kate's post featured a photo of their family with the Queen during 2016's Trooping the Colour festivities. They kept their caption short and sweet: "Wishing a very happy 93rd birthday to Her Majesty The Queen!"
The photo was inundated with comments. Many felt it interesting that they chose to post an old photo that contained Harry way in the background and didn't feature Meghan at all.
Meghan attended her first Trooping the Colour festivities last year. Harry and Meghan didn’t even begin seeing each other until after the photo posted by the Cambridges was taken.
Of course, there were other people on the balcony for that Trooping the Colour ceremony who were also presumably cropped out of the photo, including Prince Charles. The old photo also shows a much younger George and Charlotte.
On top of that, the Sussexes' collection of photos included only one photo where William was present. It was from when the boys were children, and no one seemed to see it as a snub to Kate!
It's important to remember that these families likely have more to do than stress every detail of each photo posted to their accounts. The whole thing was likely out of their hands.
