Prince William And Kate Have Their Sights Set On The USA But The Sussexes Were Here First

Prince William and Kate Middleton are said to be eyeballing a transatlantic sojourn to the United States soon. According to the Express, the pair are hoping to raise their profile in the States by collaborating with the "American royal family."

If you think that this means some kind of brotherly reconnection is on the horizon, think again. Royal fans believe Prince William and Kate are planning to link up with none other than the Kennedy family when they host the next Earthshot Prize event in the States next year.

Prince William launched the Earthshot Prize as a contest that will help "incentivise change and help repair our planet over the next ten years." The royals hosted an event on October 17, 2021, in which they announced the five projects that have been chosen as winners. Each winner is awarded £1 million (about $1.3 million).

The pair took the opportunity to share that the second Earthshot Prize event will take place in the United States in 2022. This news immediately energized fans of both the royal family and of the Kennedys, as John F. Kennedy was said to have inspired Prince William when he originally conceived the idea for the prize.

One person on Twitter noted that JFK's father, Joe Kennedy, would be ecstatic (dare we say, over the moon?) about the news. "Joseph Kennedy would be jumping for joy if he found out that his SON influenced a project of the royals. Dynasty complete."

Some people also expect that a stateside visit from the Cambridges will rattle Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who have been happily living in the United States for quite some time. Though there's not a lot of public evidence to support this theory, some royal watchers can't help but speculate.

In March 2021, royal writer Richard Kay seemed to be anticipating this moment when he wrote, "With support for the royals on a knife-edge in America, they should be sent there as soon as travel restrictions allow. Not to California, but to New York and the East Coast: Diana territory. There, they could give a real example of duty and public service that is far removed from the woke monarchy channelled by Harry and Meghan."

Fellow royal expert Duncan Larcombe recently pointed out that it's likely Prince William and Kate will be in the US at the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022. He adds, "Harry and Meghan have made the US their home and their target audience. So the prospect of William and Kate going over there will no doubt rock them."

While it's unclear how much meat is really behind the story, it's safe to assume that many eyes will be on Prince William and Kate as well as Prince Harry and Meghan when a royal tour of the US does inevitably take place. Whether or not the two couples reunite publicly remains to be seen.
